MACH4 ADCH - Bronze Calabria
Calabria, my Alaskan Malamute, was my first dog and first agility
dog. Her first job was to be my guard dog etc., and as a young
dog, I used to jump
her over horse jumps for fun and tire her out. In the Spring of 2000, while taking
an beginner obedience class at Top Dog in Flanders, New Jersey, I saw
the dog agility jumps and we have been playing every since.
Calabria is the most
intelligent dog I have ever worked with, and is certainly not your
typical Malamute.
She herds sheep, fetches anything, swims all day long and is
always willing to learn. She will keep you on your toes and has
taught me more than I will ever teach her.
In May 2005, Calabria was
diagnosed with an
hemangioperiocytoma.
She had the tumor removed in June as well as under went 19 radiation
treatments at Red Bank Veterinary
Hospital. In October of 2007, Calabria had a mast cell tumor
removed from her abdomen. She is now back to doing what she loves - working.
She just finished her MACH4 and ADCH Bronze.
